What We Do

Omaha Elite Kettlebell provides the highest standards in kettlebell instruction in group fitness classes and personalized exercises designed to improve movement quality, strength, reflexive stability, and increase overall strength.  In operation since 2008, we are Omaha’s longest standing source of StrongFirst certified kettlebell instruction and have safely trained students from ages 7 to 88.  We teach the techniques and supporting principles while enforcing movement quality and safety to help you achieve your fitness goals.

• Strength and flexibility as skills.
• Consistency over intensity.
• Quality and safety before quantity.
• Principle-based programmed training over random routines.
• Expanding your comfort zone, not causing you to crash up against it.
• Requiring our instructors to regularly attend continuing education and be able to perform what they teach at a high level.

Kettlebells, Barbells, Bodyweight, Dumbbells, Flexibility, TRX, etc…

Despite our name our focus is not on the kettlebell, but first on moving well, then on moving well with strength to help you reach your specific goals or increase overall strength and healthy enough to tackle whatever life throws your way. In addition to the kettlebell, we use a variety of other tools including barbells, pull-up bars, bodyweight movements, ropes, foam rollers, TRX suspension training, Indian clubs, and jump ropes. The kettlebell is one tool in our arsenal, but it is our favorite tool due to it’s simplicity, versatility, accessibility, portability, fast learning curve and other unique advantages that the kettlebell provides. No other single tool allows you to get so much done as effectively and safely, in any location, and in so little time.

The benefits of kettlebell training include

  • Increase overall strength and specific strength, particularly for your posterior chain, core, and grip.
  • Increased cardiovascular fitness.
  • Increased mobility.
  • Increased reflexive stability.
  • Adaptable and effective for all ages and fitness levels.
  • Increased muscle activation due to the unique stability challenges provided by the kettlebell’s off-balanced center of mass.

The kettebell’s ergonomic design permits a greater range of motion and safer body mechanics than machines or free weights allow.

The kettlebell’s design allows it to be accelerated during the negative portion of a lift adding “virtual weight” that can’t be easily duplicated with barbells or machines during the personalized exercises.

We offer StrongFirst Level II Kettlebell Certified Instruction – the highest standard in kettlebell instruction under the founder of the modern kettlebell movement, Pavel Tsatsouline. Our instructors also either currently hold or have previously completed HKC, RKC, RKC II, CK-FMS, FMS, SFL (Barbell) and SFB (Bodyweight) certifications.

Your safety is important to us.  Proper technique is vital both for your safety and for maximizing results.  This is why our instructors consistently invest in furthering their own education through advanced kettlebell instructor workshops and regular re-certification. We have taught over 4000 group classes without a single injury.

OEKB-CLASS-03-OPT.jpgIn addition to being taught how to progress and regress every movement we teach, our instructors are FMS (Functional Movement Screen) certified. This means we know how to identify, prioritize and correct movement pattern issues that decrease training effectiveness and increase risk of injury. For example, we recognize that the ability to touch your toes, reach overhead, and squat properly impacts performance and affects injury risk for even the most elite athletes. The FMS helps identify your needs to move better for safe and effective training. We introduce movement progressions, then use a combination of kettlebell, bodyweight, and barbell techniques to increase your strength and help you achieve your fitness or performance goals.

We tolerate zero of the douchebaggery you’ll find at most gyms. No cell phones allowed. No hoarding equipment. Everyone is here by appointment with a program to follow.
